You Snooze you Lose
Alarm goes off...
I know I should probably get straight out of bed and get off to a good start 🏃♂️
But my bed is so comfy and that snooze button is so easy to press 🛌
I repeat the process as many times as possible until I barely have the time to shower before going to work 👨💻
Sound familiar?
I did this pretty much every day for about 6 years 🤦♂️
But unfortunately not only in the morning.
I did this when it came to working out, eating healthy, meditating, learning the piano, starting a new sport, reading, calling family and friends etc. 😳
When was the last time you pressed the snooze button on life?
Maybe you said you were going to learn a new language… maybe you said you were going to get your motorcycle license… maybe you said you were going to start that hobby again…
It’s so easy to push back what we want to do to later, especially when it feels like a huge task.
But one day I tried out a new habit:
Every time my alarm went off I would instantly sit up and drink a glass of water that was next to my bed 🚰
This was my only requirement, my only goal for when the alarm went off ⏰
I was still allowed to snooze and stay in bed.
But once I’d had the glass of water, I felt more awake and 80% of the time I was able to convince myself to get out of bed 😅
I started doing the same with all the other things too, getting my gym clothes out before bed, buying the ingredients for a healthy meal, learning one chord on the piano, reading one page of a book etc.
Slowly I stopped pressing the snooze button as much and started achieving way more things in life 😎
But all it took was one small action 👌
One small action that led to so many big changes in my life.
What’s the small action you need to take? What’s the thing you have been snoozing for so long?
