When Life Gets Blurry, Adjust Your Focus π
A few years back, I visited my brother and his wife in the US πΊπΈ
They played this game called the Yellow Car Game.
The first one to see a yellow car was allowed to lightly punch the other on the shoulder π
Being the competitive person that I am, I got fully involved and spent the whole holiday searching for yellow cars π§
When I got back home a few weeks later, I started seeing yellow cars everywhere in Amsterdam π€
Obviously there hadnβt been a sudden increase in yellow cars, instead I was just noticing them more because my attention was focused on them (Also referred to as the Frequency Illusion).
This made me realise the importance of our focus and what we chose to put our attention on.
Because what we focus on grows π»
If we spend a lot of time focusing on what we donβt have, we will never have enough.
If we focus on what we already have, we will always have more.
The same goes for a lot of other things in life, if we only read/watch negative and depressing content, we will start seeing negativity and depression everywhere π©
If we watch motivational content, spend time reading personal development books and stories about people who have overcome adversity, we will start seeing hope, opportunities and possibilities everywhere π€©
So itβs important not to underestimate the power of our focus.
Do you have any examples of times where your focus has made something grow in your life?
