Free Britney

You already know I’m a Spice Girls fan…

So it will come as no surprise that Britney Spears was also one of my idols growing up.

My first ever CD single “Baby One More Time” got played more times I can remember.

And “Toxic” is my go to for anyone who’s ever challenged me to a dance off or lip sync battle.

But why do I bring her up now?

Well Britney is in the process of being freed from her conservatorship.

For the last 13 years, by court order, her life has been entirely dictated by someone else.

In a few months, hopefully she will be free.

Free to live the life that she wants. Free to finally live for herself.

And this got me thinking….

Most of us are blessed not to be in a conservatorship.

Most of us have the freedom to be anything we want to be.

Yet so many of us aren’t truly living for ourselves.

So many of us aren’t actually taking full advantage of this freedom that is available to us.

We live our lives working for big corporations that say they have our best interest at heart, but most of the time only care about making more money.

So what if this year was the year you decided to invest in yourself?

What if you finally did something for yourself instead of just spending most of your days making other people rich?

And I’m not saying quit your job, I’m saying invest in your personal growth, invest in your legacy, invest in making sure you don’t have any regrets on your deathbed.

And if you’re not ready to do it for yourself, then do it for Britney.

How would you describe your life if you could only use Britney songs or lyrics?
