How to improve your focus?

Correct me if I’m wrong…

But one of the worst feelings in the world:


Remembering you haven’t done the dishes when you’re on your way to bed 😩

You’ve just turned off the TV.

It’s already past your bedtime because the movie was a bit longer than expected.

You’re excited about getting into those nice and cosy sheets.

But then you see the kitchen sink and suddenly regret using all 5 pans to cook that delicious meal…

Sound familiar?

This is a situation I’ve been in more times than I can remember.

A few years back, I would have said “F*ck it” and just gone to bed.

But with experience, I’ve learnt that waking up to a dirty pile of dishes feels even worse.

Waking up to a clean house, however, allows me to start fresh without the reminder of how behind I got the day before.

It allows me to dive straight into the things that matter the most and therefore be more productive.

Decluttering your environment is one of the best ways to have more focus.

And this doesn’t stop at doing the dishes, this could also be clearing your desk, closing down tabs, making your bed etc.

Our external environment plays a huge role on our productivity, effectiveness and motivation but also on our general well-being.

So it’s important not to neglect it.
