What to do when you are bored?
I bet you haven’t heard this one before,
But one of my favourite things to do when bored:
Is to stay bored.
These days our minds are constantly being stimulated.
Whether it’s checking social media or looking at our messages.
Listening to music, podcasts or watching videos on Youtube and Netflix.
If Battery life permits, we have the option of completely removing boredom from our lives.
But so many amazing things can come from being bored.
How many problems have you solved while in the shower?
How many things have you remembered? Ideas have you come up with?
While you were simply doing nothing?
Boredom is a healthy escape from the constant overload of information.
It allows our brains to relax, boosts our creativity and helps with problem solving.
So next time you’re at the gym, on public transport or your partner goes to the restroom in a restaurant.
Leave your phone in your pocket, take off your headphones.
And just be bored.
You might come up with the world’s next billion dollar idea.
