The downfall of performance reviews
Everyone from the corporate world LOVES performance reviews.
That wonderful time of the year where you get to write feedback for your colleagues…
or for that one person you spent a few hours on a project with.
Not only is this an exercise to help you and your colleagues develop,
it's also a way for everyone to receive feedback on their ability to give feedback.
And for this reason, it’s never really acceptable to not have feedback for someone.
So a lot of people end up having to create feedback out of nothing.
Of course, this is not always the case and a lot of feedback can be very useful in our development.
But this culture of constant development and constant feedback can be exhausting.
Especially when it comes to constructive feedback.
As it creates this everlasting feeling of never being good enough.
Because no matter how well you are doing, you can always do better.
No matter how fast you run, you remain on the Hamster wheel.
And if you’re not properly equipped mentally, this can easily lead to Burnout.
This is the work that I do with my clients, I give them the tools that help them navigate through life no matter the circumstances.
I help them get off the Hamster wheel without having to change jobs or change much of the things around them.
So if you feel tired of being on the hamster wheel or chasing the carrot, don't hesitate to send me a DM.
Much love,
Alex
