When I had a Burnout
When I had a Burnout three years ago, I was so embarrassed about it that I didn’t tell anyone apart from my friends and close family 😳
One of the big reasons for this burnout had been that I felt I couldn’t keep up with everyone around me.
Everyone seemed to be on top of their work, everyone seemed to be doing more than me and performing better 😓
A few years later when I realised that this burnout was actually a defining moment in my life, I started opening up about it and talking to some of my ex-colleagues.
A lot of them were completely shocked because they had felt that I was the one on top of things and I was the one doing more than them.
It turns out that they had also been suffering and were super stressed for exactly the same reasons 😲
This happens way more than we might think and that’s why it’s super important to open up and talk about our mental help.
By opening up to someone at work, you might be giving them the opportunity to also open up.
And guess what? It also feels great to talk about it and can even reduce your stress levels.
So if you’re currently feeling stressed at work, open up to a colleague about it.
Let’s break this stigma that stress is embarrassing and start taking mental health seriously.
Give me a YES in the comments if you have felt stressed at work but never told anyone.
